Aleksy lives in Poland but works offshore in the North sea. Can he claim back his tax?

Yes he can as long as he is either a qualifying seafarer or he lives in Poland and spends less than 91 days in the UK. This will include within UK waters within 11 miles from the UK shoreline. He can also claim his tax back for prior years.

If he worked on an oil rig he could also claim back his tax if he lived in Poland and spent less than 91 days in the UK in any tax year.
